Vision:

I envisage a campus where every student, regardless of background, identity, or status, feels heard, valued, and represented in decisions that shape their education and well-being.

Values:

I could list a few things, but they are really best experienced firsthand. Here’s what I will tell you:

  • I have a good habit of getting things done. Call it action-oriented impact, and you’ll be right.

  • I have a strong sense of equity and justice.

  • Inclusivity and accessibility are at the core of what I do.

  • I am resilient and have learnt to see failure as nothing more than feedback.

  • I am a sucker for collaborative partnerships.

  • I believe life is too short not to wear a smile.

  • I believe in the power of unity.

  • I value clarity and believe there’s little effective communication and dialogue that can’t be solved.

But these are not the only reasons you should vote for me. I encourage you today to be selfish. Vote me because I have the capacity to advocate for your needs and deliver the student experience of your dreams. 

Mission:

…Is not to reinvent the wheel. The school authority and the previous SRC have laid a great foundation. I would like to build on that synergistically with YOU and my fellow executives to curate a stellar and nostalgic experience for all students.

My plan rests on these four pillars

Book

Academic excellence is non-negotiable. “Equitable teaching enhances learning”. I’ll explore how to integrate engaging, inclusive and less overwhelming teaching approaches. I plan to work closely with the VP taught programmes and the committee to introduce peer to peer learning support where students can volunteer to teach extra sessions on modules like Basic Stats/STEPH or even a more organized peer reviewing of summative papers as the terms unfold. Above all, we will push for institutional support to sustain these programmes.

Body

A popular Naija saying goes “Body no be firewood”. SOCIALS! Yes food for the soul. From sports, to cultural events, open mic nights, inter-school events…I promise quality interaction and community building. Pump handle Pub nights are great, but how about leveraging them for creative expressions, say open-mic nights, karaoke. Together with my VPs, I plan to establish a socials, sport and cultural committee. To oversee a wholistic social engagement that complements our hectic academic schedule. Additionally in terms of welfare, I will work to Increase present and future student accommodation options through our prospective alumni networks and a structured hand-over system.

Brain

Your Career Development. While LSHTM is resourceful, more can be done to prepare us for real-world experiences. From course field trips, alumni mentorship, opportunities for student representation at international conferences, and expanded earn-and-learn opportunities for students. I will advocate for an expansion of internship opportunities tailored to LSHTM students.

Bridges

The school, the students (MSc, PhD, Distance learning, UoL campus network), the alumni. We are our greatest resource. We have an international community of students across races, gender, religion, abilities, multiple courses with potential for intentional interaction. And our UoL schools offer an untapped campus network. * I plan to deepen our connections through strategic meetings, inter-school networking, mentorship, and hands-on activities, including friendly social and academic competitions. * Advocacy for inclusive and fair IELTS alternatives for English speaking countries/Students. * Sustain the work of the past administration in pushing for a closer Graduation date, which accommodates International students with visa restrictions.

Action Points:

• Integrate individual executive manifestos into an action plan

• ⁠Establish a student feedback system to accommodate your needs, ideas, and voice

• ⁠Institute Student committees to enhance participation and sustain democracy

• ⁠Host regular town hall meetings as constitutionally allowed

A representative council that includes you is possible, but it begins with you casting your vote. 🗳
